light therapy
LED light therapy harnesses the healing power of specific wavelengths of light. When far red/near infrared energy is directed at injury sites and other painful areas, it increases circulation, reduces inflammation, and promotes healing. The result is relief of discomfort. Treatment with far red/near infrared LED light therapy is easy and painless. Flexible pads, each containing multiple far red and infrared LED lights, are placed directly on the skin over the area of pain or injury. Energy from the lights penetrates the skin surface and is absorbed by deep tissues.
After just 20-30 minutes of treatment, blood flow is significantly enhanced, and this boost in local circulation persists for a few hours after the pads are removed. The most dramatic benefits of infrared light therapy are achieved with multiple treatments.
The key to the dramatic improvements from near red/far infrared LED light therapy is nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is a short-lived gas that is crucial to the health of the arteries. This powerful molecule relaxes the arteries, helps regulate blood pressure, fights free radicals, and discourages platelets from bunching up together in the blood vessels. Near red/far infrared energy stimulates the release of nitric oxide, which enhances blood flow in the treated area, bringing oxygen, nutrients, and pain relief to sore and injured tissues.
